Steampunk is like Victorian England on a caffeine binge, where steam-powered gadgets rule, and everyone dresses like they’re heading to a cosplay convention in a smog-filled London. Imagine Sherlock Holmes with a jetpack and a monocle that shoots lasers—because why not? 

Double Steam slot, a new release from Platipus, fits that definition of steampunk perfectly. It looks like it’s set in the back alleys of steampunk-infused London. The main character reminded me of the evil guy from Meet the Robinsons, and considering his maniacal look and the location, it kinda seemed like they were going for a steampunk Jack the Ripper. However, they may just be me.

I’m not a big cosplayer, but if I were, steampunk would absolutely be my jam. I’ve always loved the aesthetic. Steam Double does a mostly good job of executing a steampunk theme, but I do wish they would have cranked it up even more. However, to the average player, there may be more than enough steampunk to go around. While the bonus features were few and far between, I did like that they tried to shake standard bonus features up a little. All in all, a solid little slot. I give Double Steam slot from Platipus a nine out of ten.
