Paid by a Dystopian Claw Machine in Outsourced: Payday
Nolimit City is basically the Quentin Tarantino of slot providers—dark humor, boundary-pushing, and just the right amount of “should we really be laughing at this?” Earlier this year, they dropped the Outsourced slot into their collection—a slot that takes a hilariously absurd swipe at consumerism and the soul-sucking sterility of modern supermarkets. It’s bizarre, unapologetic, and oh-so Nolimit City. In short, it’s everything I didn’t know I needed in a slot game, and I was obsessed.
In early November, Nolimit City released a spin-off of its Outsourced slot called Outsourced: Slash Game. This crash game saw players trying to cash out before a hand got severed by a rogue laser. It was a really cool expansion of the Outsourced universe, and I was excited to see if Nolimit City would continue to build on the concept. Well, they have. The slot provider has released the newest game in the Outsourced saga, Outsourced: Payday.
Who needs a paycheck when you’ve got a claw machine?
The Outsourced: Payday slot is pretty straightforward. A conveyor belt sits at the bottom of the screen that shifts sets of five multiplier values in and out. The multipliers feature values between 0x and 1,000x your bet amount. If a 2x or above multiplier value appears below your claw, you’ll win that amount. It’s that simple.
Apart from the basics, the slot also features one base game bonus. The Claw Spins bonus feature is triggered when the claw picks up the Claw Spins symbol—go figure. You’ll start with 3 Claw Spins. Each bonus symbol picked up during a round of Claw Spins will grant an additional three spins. During a round of Claw Spins, only symbols with multipliers above 2x will appear, which guarantees a win from every spin.
The Outsourced: Payday slot’s Bonus Buy menu offers four options: Claw Spins with 3 spins and 1 claw (priced at 35x your bet amount), Clawier Spins with 3 spins and 3 claws (150x your bet amount), Clawiest Spins with 3 spins and 5 claws (400x your bet amount), and God Mode, where a MAX WIN symbol is guaranteed to appear on the conveyor belt (997x your bet amount).
In addition to Bonus Buy options, the slot also offers Booster options. The xBet feature ensures a bonus symbol appears on the conveyor belt for 6x your bet amount per spin. The Safe Claw Mode guarantees the claw won’t drop symbols for 1.6x your bet amount per spin. Finally, the 3 Claws 1 Spin and 5 Claws 1 Spin options give you 3 and 5 claws per spin for 4x and 10x your bet amount, respectively.
Is Outsourced: Payday a worthy addition to the Outsourced universe?
Betting on Outsourced: Payday starts from $0.20 a spin and tops out at $32 a spin. The game features a 10,000x max multiplier, which gives you a shot at winning up to $320,000. High volatility will, however, mean that you’ll trade small consistent wins for a shot at those bigger multiplier wins. The slot features an RTP of 96%.
Outsourced: Slash Game was a great addition to the Outsourced universe. When I reviewed it, I gave it a ten out of ten. I won’t be giving Outsourced: Payday a ten out of ten. It honestly feels like Nolimit City ran out of ideas. It’s not bad; it just does not offer the same absurd drama as the other titles in this series. That’s not to say it offers nothing. It’s a great little casual game with a bunch of fun features. I just wanted the shared edge that the other two games in the series had in spades. I give Outsourced: Payday a seven out of ten.
Instead of playing Outsourced: Payday, I recommend you check out some other titles in the Nolimit City catalog. Some of my favorites are Skate Or Die and Punk Toilet.
