Set Sail for Riches in Rum & Raiders Slot
I recently discovered that pirates burning treasure is a fantasy of Hollywood. Swashbuckling sea robbers generally split any treasure amongst the crew who then spent it liberally on booze and company, if you know what I mean. Treasure maps were probably just better for marketing and merchandising than ladies of the night.
Experience the furious fortunes of pirates in Rum & Raiders slot from Iron Dog Studio.
Raise the anchor and drop the sails
If you’re going to raise the skull and crossbones and set sail for riches, you’re going to want to know your way around the ship first.
The appearance of two scatter symbols will trigger a round of the slot’s Broadside Bonus feature. Once triggered, a cannon will fire five cannonballs at crates revealing multipliers or special symbols. If you manage to destroy all the crates, you’ll receive a 100x multiplier that will be added to the win total once the round has been completed.
Three scatter symbols will trigger a round of the slot’s Hold and Win feature. Once triggered, the three scatter symbols will transform into flags with random multipliers. You will then have three spins to add additional multipliers to the reels. If you add a multiplier, your three spins will be reset. However, if you go three spins without adding a multiplier, your Hold and Win round will be over. The feature also has special symbols each with its own bonus feature.
- Captain – appears with his own multiplier value (between 1x and 10x) and adds the sum of all the other values on the reels to that base multiplier and then doubles a random number of multipliers on the reels.
- Parrot – appears with its own multiplier value (between 1x and 10x) and adds that value to all other multipliers on the reels.
- First mate – appears with his own multiplier value (between 1x and 10x) and adds the sum of all the other values on the reels to that base multiplier.
- Shooter – appears with his own multiplier value (between 1x and 10x) and doubles a random number of multipliers on the reels.
- Grog boy – appears with his own multiplier value (between 1x and 10x) and adds the sum of all the other values on the reels to that base multiplier and reactivates all other special symbols on the board except for Grog Boys.
If you’re not keen on waiting around for your ship to come in, you can select to buy a round of the Hold and Win feature. But beware, if you’re not careful, you may have to walk the plank and spend more on your round than you’ll get out in the end.
Is Rum & Raiders slot worth a taste?
I have a soft spot for pirate-themed slots and there really isn’t any shortage of them. Rum & Raiders slot doesn’t exactly stand out from the pack. In fact, the graphics and animation are a little dull in spots. The bonus features are what save the slot. The Broadside Bonus and Hold and Win features are great, and they really add to the whole experience. I really just wish the graphics were a bit more exciting.
Thanks to the high volatility, you’re going to be waiting longer than you’d like between wins. Luckily, with a 96.08% RTP and a huge 25,000x max multiplier, you can always just bump the bet per spin down to the minimum, and you’ll still have a chance at some big wins.
If you’re looking for a few other fierce Iron Dog Studio slots to try out, I recommend giving Astro Newts Megaways and Aztec Wilds Megaways a try.
