The Worms Go with Melee Weapons in Worms of Valor Slot
The first Worms game was released in 1995 on the Saga Mega Drive, PlayStation, Game Boy, and even the Atari Jaguar. It was the MS-Dos version that had me waking up at the crack of dawn to play with my brothers. We loved it. We played it for hours until my parents kicked us out of the house until dinner time. So when I saw AvatarUX release a twist on the game, I was immediately interested.
The Worms of Valor slot takes a melee twist, differentiating it from the actual Worms games, and I’m here for it.
Fight!
Worms of Valor slot has an interesting twist on cascading reels. When a winning combination of symbols is formed, the symbols involved will be removed, allowing new symbols to fill the empty spots. When this happens, the reels on which the symbols involved in the winning combination appear will extend by one row.
Apart from the expanding reels, the other prominent bonus feature is the ZapReel, which is above the standard reels. The ZapReel will effectively act as another reel of the slot with symbols appearing on it that are being used to either contribute to a winning combination or constitute a winning combination all on their own.
What is unique about the reel is that it will spawn bonus features. In the base game, wild and cash prize symbols can appear on the ZapReel. During a round of free spins, wild, cash prize, multipop, and reel unlock symbols can appear on the ZapReel.
The slot’s free spins feature is triggered by three, four, or five bonus systems. Once triggered, the height of the reels will be set at the shortest reel height of the spin on which the feature was initiated. Additionally, during a round of free spins, the reels won’t be reset and will continue to expand until they are fully unlocked. When this occurs, an additional two free spins will be awarded. The free spins feature also includes a global multiplier value that will continue to grow throughout the round and will be applied to all winning combinations that appear during your round.
Is Worms of Valor slot nostalgic or nah?
Worms of Valor slot offers a 10,000x max multiplier, allowing you to play for up to $200,000 in winnings when betting at $20 a spin. The large multiplier potential also gives you a shot at some impressive wins, even if you’re betting closer to the $0.20 a spin minimum. The slot offers high volatility and an RTP of 96%.
I’m not sure I can judge this one fairly. When I was playing it, all the nostalgic memories of having hours of fun playing Worms came bubbling up, and I had a good shot of dopamine. That being said, it has it all on paper. Great graphics, interesting gameplay, engaging bonus features, and a significant max multiplier. I probably would have preferred medium volatility to balance the gameplay, but you can’t have everything. So, on balance, I think I’ll give this one a nine out of ten.
