The slot’s most prominent feature is the level-based expanding reels mechanic. How this works is that at the start of the game, there are three reels and one row, that’s it. You will then complete the location by hitting particular goals. The reels will then expand to two rows and then three rows. Thereafter, the slot will start adding reels up to a maximum of five reels. Each level will be more difficult to pass, requiring you to unlock progressively more complex bonus features.
Gerard’s Gambit slot isn’t the first to use multiple “locations”. However, the slot is the first, in my opinion, to implement them in a way that doesn’t seem forced or gimmicky. I love how you discover more of the slot as you go along and how unique each location and its accompanying symbols are. The wild symbols specifically are entirely unique to each location. I can even imagine how much work was put in to make this location-based mechanic a reality, but it was so worth it!

Holy shit! Gerard’s Gambit slot is genre-defining. It’s quite simply the most fascinating slot I have ever had the good fortune of coming across. It draws you in with its initial simplicity and its beautiful graphics and location-specific symbols and features keep you glued to the screen throughout. Everything is so well-balanced and thought through that I struggle to find any fault whatsoever. There’s not even high volatility to dampen my spirits.
The slot has medium volatility, ensuring the gameplay offers some consistent small wins while you’re chasing the rare big wins. The 3,000x max multiplier does mean that you won’t be able to expect giant wins if you’re not betting at around the €75 per spin max, but who cares. The slot also has an insanely low €0.05 minimum bet, which means you can just enjoy the ride without breaking the bank. This one is, in my opinion, all for the entertainment and I love that.
