Xiao’s Treasure Slot Review
Cockroaches are truly bizarre creatures. I mean how else would you describe something that can live for a month without water, three months without food, or for one week without a goddamn head?! 🪳
But that’s not where the humble roach’s exploits end. The dirty bastards can also hold their breath for 40 minutes and scuttle at speeds of up to 3 miles per hour.
If you’re unsure why I’m babbling on about roaches as the preamble to my review of Xiao’s Treasure slot from GameBeat, it’s because – for some obscure reason – you’ll see one crawling out from behind the left-hand controls to behind the game grid.
Truly bizarre choice of animation, Gamebeat.
Gameplay
Calling all mobile slot game players: have I got one for you! Xiao’s Treasure slot looks fantastic on a small screen in portrait mode – and even better on bigger devices. The controls are very user-friendly, and one-handed operation is a doddle.
On a desktop or laptop device, as you can well imagine, the massive 5x3-reel grid, with its humungous symbols, seems to leap off the screen. The game’s design isn’t particularly inspiring or creative, but that’s fine.
The stats are solid, with 25 paylines, an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. of 96.14%, a medium volatility rate, and a max win that tips the scales at €131,625. Another nice addition is that all currencies are available.
Let’s chat about the symbols for a sec. The high-paying ones are characters – there’s a young, old, and middle-aged dude as well as a babe. Then we have the Yin/Yang symbols – the Yang (white) appears only on reel 1, while the Yin (black) appears on reel number 5.
The Wild is a banner that replaces all symbols other than the Yin, Yang, Coin, and Mystery symbols.
Features
FREE SPINS:
Landing a Yin and Yang symbol on their respective reels triggers the Free Spins round, with 8 spins and a Mystery symbol for your trouble. Landing additional Yin or Yang symbols will re-trigger 8 more spins.
You’ll only see Mystery symbols during this feature and they’ll randomly reveal one of the paying symbols – ostensibly the one most beneficial to you.
The Bonus game – which I will speak about next – can be triggered during Free Spins.
BONUS GAME:
You’ll need to hit at least 6 Coin symbols to trigger this round and the festivities kick off with 6 re-spins. This Hold & Win feature will see only Coins, Red Orbs, Jade, and Tea symbols on the reels.
The Tea symbol awards an additional spin, while the others become sticky.
Performance
Xiao’s Treasure slot exhibited no performance anxiety. I put it under pressure for hundreds of rounds and it always rose to the occasion.
Maximum Win
Bet €25 a pop and land the 5,265x max multiplier for a top prize win worth €131,625. Or you can bet from as little as €0.25.
Conclusion
Triggering the Bonus game and the Free Spins round was nigh on impossible. I played for – quite literally – hundreds of spins and tons of time and kept coming up empty-handed.
Your experience might be different but I’m highlighting this to prepare you for what might happen – the medium volatility rate doesn’t mean you’ll bet a few times and instantly be balls-deep in the features.
If you catch a losing streak as I did, then Xiao’s Treasure slot is not a lot of fun.
Given my less-than-stellar experience with this game, I won’t be able to recommend it. As I say, you might have better luck but for me, it was a super unpleasant and dull experience.
