Caligula Slot Review

I took advanced history in high school, which is the only reason I know that Caligula is another name for the fierce Roman Emperor, Julius Caesar. Caesar was a tough old bastard, and honestly not the best emperor. In fact, it’s not particularly surprising that he got stabbed to death by one of his own. Given the current state of global politics, I’m sure this is something we’d quite like to do to some of our own political leaders - they really are a crazy bunch.

Gameplay

Caligula is a 5-reel, 10-payline video slot powered by software from GameArt. This slot has loads of symbols including playing cards from 9 to Ace, a shield and sword, an attractive blond woman, and gold coins. The Scatter is represented by a Roman Soldier, while Caesar himself acts as the Wild. The controls are very straightforward, but could prove tricky should you suffer a stab to the heart while playing this game. From left to right: Paytable, Bet Per Line, Auto Play, Spin, Balance, Total Bet, and Win.

Features

So, what features can you expect from Caligula?
Wild: Caesar acts as the Wild and can replace all symbols except Scatter - something slot veterans should be very well aware of by now.

Unique Features

The Scatter offers a bonus feature. Upon landing three or more of these icons, a bonus feature will be triggered. However, the bonus feature is just Free Spins, so don’t get too excited.

Performance

This is a stunning slot, with 3D graphics, a dramatic soundtrack, and availability on any device. GameArt has kept this slot looking suitably realistic, while not overdoing it too much.

Conclusion

Overall, Caligula is a solid offering from GameArt. There aren’t too many exciting features, but it offers good payouts, stunning graphics, and a backstory to write home about. One thing that’s guaranteed is that I’ll be returning to this slot over and over.
