Aces and Faces Video Poker Review

I have the worst poker face in the history of the world. Despite making a career in online gambling, I am terrible at the IRL stuff – so much so that it’s become a running joke amongst my friends.

They know that playing poker against me almost always guarantees a fun time, because my bluffing ability constitutes a big fat zero – and I always try anyway.

I’ve given up on trying at this point, choosing to stick to online versions of video poker like Aces and Faces video poker from Platipus Gaming.

Gameplay

Aces and Faces video poker from Platipus is based on the classic Jacks or Better poker variation but with one key difference: all four of a kind card combinations have an increased payout.

The game uses a standard 52 card deck, and you can play up to 50 hands at a time. Clicking the DEAL button will start the game, with the number of hands that you’ve selected.

After placing your bet, you’ll receive 5 initial cards. Click on the cards you want to hold, and those that are not held will be discarded.

Clicking the DRAW button will replace all of your initial cards, making way for new ones. Winning hands are paid out according to the paytable, which you’ll find under the MENU button.

Aces and Faces video poker has a 99.25% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
and low-medium volatility. The max win comes in at €4,000, courtesy of the 800x multiplier.

Bet limits range from €0.20 to €5, and there are no currency limitations.

Features

Unfortunately, Aces and Faces video poker has no additional features.

Performance

Platipus has built Aces and Faces video poker using HTML5 software, which means that it’s fully optimized for mobile (and desktop) play. You can take it with you on the go, in landscape and portrait mode.

I tested this game on my iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro and didn’t encounter any problems – it’s also good to go on Chrome and Safari.

Maximum Win

Aces and Faces video poker has a maximum win of €4,000. That’s courtesy of the 800x multiplier, by the way.

Conclusion

I don’t play video poker very often, so I don’t have that much to base this conclusion on, but I will say that I enjoyed Aces and Faces video poker.

It’s super basic, with simple gameplay, but if you’re looking for that authentic poker feel, this game has it.

Overall, an enjoyable play – not much action, but it’ll do.
