Howling for Gold Review

During the Covid epidemic, I watched a ton of trash TV 📺. One of my favorite shows was about Alaskan gold miners ⛏️.

These guys would set up tents in the middle of nowhere 🏕️, pan for gold in rivers 💧, and eventually decimate the landscape with massive diggers and trucks 🚜. The American dream, right? 🇺🇸

My favorite part was when nature tried to strike back 🐻🐺. Bears and wolves would pester the camps, and the miners had to hide their food and children 🍖👶.

I was always rooting for the wolves 🐺.

Howling for Gold slot by Booming Games combines man’s lust for riches 💰 with the beauty of the outdoors 🌲. Let's hope we catch gold, and not rabies from a wolf attack 😂.

Gameplay

This game features a 4x5-reel grid set in a beautiful Alaskan landscape with a glowing sky, ripe for exploitation. Unfortunately, the soundtrack is completely forgettable.

The high-paying symbols are Wolves, Bears, Mountain Lions, Deer, and Rabbits. The Wild symbol replaces all others, except for the Scatter symbol. Landing at least 3 Scatters triggers a Free Spins round.

Mystery symbols can land in the base game, and will transform into the same regular symbols (high or low) and possibly create some big wins!

This game features an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
of 96.1%, 25 paylines, and a max multiplier of 10,000x. The max win is $250,000. This game is highly volatile.

Features

FREE SPINS:

If you land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters, you’ll kick off 8, 10, or 12 Free Spins.

The Free Spins are progressive, so as you level up, the reel strips get better. Starting at Level 1, 2, or 3 depends on whether you land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters.

During Free Spins, you’ll collect Powered Wolves to fill up the symbol meters. Once a meter’s full, the matching symbol gets upgraded to a bigger one, following the order shown at the top or side of the screen.
The levels work as follows:

Level 1: No symbols get upgraded.
Level 2: All rabbits upgrade to Deer.
Level 3: All Deer upgrade to Mountain Lions.
Level 4 All Mountain Lions upgrade to Bears
Level 5: All Bears upgrade to Wolves

When a meter is filled, you get an extra Free Spin.

Performance

This game runs perfectly on mobile phones and all popular browsers..

Maximum Win

This game has a max multiplier of 10,000x. Combine that with a betting range of between $0.25 and $25, and you could take home $250,000.

Conclusion

This game taps into that wild, rugged spirit of Alaskan gold mining, blending the thrill of chasing riches with the untamed beauty of the outdoors.
It's like the slot version of those gold mining shows, except here, you're not just rooting for wolves, you're banking on them!

The standout feature is definitely the progressive Free Spins, where you collect Powered Wolves to upgrade symbols as you move through the levels.
This adds some excitement as you chase bigger and better wins. Plus, with a max multiplier of 10,000x and a potential $250,000 win, there’s a lot to howl about.

However, the game itself is pretty straightforward. You’ve got Mystery symbols in the base game, but not a whole lot of extra features to keep you hooked if you're looking for more variety.

So if you’re in the mood for a simple, high-stakes adventure in the wild, this game might be worth a spin. Just be ready to chase gold, fend off wolves, and hope you come out richer (or at least not with rabies).
